The Old Torture Chamber Of The Heart

I came with a wrench

To dismantle

The old torture chamber

In my heart

Where I tested myself out

To see what I could take

To see if I would break

To see what a human being

Is made of.

Now it’s come to

A different time.

A time of self forgiveness.

The holy healing wound

Must finally be salved

The guillotine taken apart

And life flows easy once again

To the beating of my heart.
