The Wrong Token is a meme token with no real utility other than laughing at how ridiculous crypto has become and what it takes to finally build a successful project. We invite you to be a part of this fun community’s journey.

It’s a parody. It’s satire. It has a purpose. It’s wrong. We are exposing the lies in crypto while keeping ourselves based or something like that.

Did you make it this far? Congratulations! You are few and far between. Because nobody reads whitepapers, we are doing it differently. I’m going to tell the boring story of the who, what, when, where, and why Wrong was created. Sit back and try to concentrate for a few minutes. If you just want to read about the tokens, go back to the website. It’s all there already and we don’t need to repeat it here.

This is word-for-word where the idea for Wrong Token was born. Two idiots talking shit in a Telegram DM. It was just banter. We were riffing and I didn’t think much of it other than that.

We were in the midst of a failing presale for a serious project. A project that The Other Guy and I (along with JoJo and Tricia and a host of others) had worked on for months to get just right. We barely filled half the presale soft cap with one day left to go and were just blowing off some steam. There was some pissy vibes because shitty projects were filling their presales all around us and we couldn’t comprehend why a refined project like ours was being overlooked.

That failing project was set to launch on April 1st, 2023.

It never filled and never launched.

At 4am on April 1, 2023, I woke up angry. This was supposed to be launch day and maybe it still could be. I was angry about our failed presale. Angry about the amount of time and energy that was lost. Angry about the cesspool that is crypto. I was angry that my friends were also unhappy with the whole damn thing.

I got myself a cup of coffee, sat down on the couch, flipped on the TV for background noise, and opened my laptop. I started working on some of the discussed changes for that project for a relaunch and decided to take a break.

As a goof, I was going to build a quick website to make The Other Guy laugh. Just going to spend an hour on it and then show it to him like it’s a real thing or something.

I started to really get into it. Just by adding little phrases and moon men and all that, it was starting to look cool. I can’t tell you how much frustration was released while typing out the Wrong Roadmap. Every dumbass thing I could think of in crypto was tossed in there with exactly how I feel about it. The important thing is that I absolutely know I’m not alone.

I started to like it.

I started to like it a lot.

I do my best thinking in the car so I drove over to Starbucks for more coffee. The Other Guy knows I’m a car-thinker so my first DM isn’t out of the ordinary.

I get home and I’m back on the couch and hunched over my laptop. Moving things. Adding things. Linking things. Minting a contract. Building a quick Telegram chat. Finding some BNB. Doing all the things I know how to do.

During all this time, The Other Guy has to make a new Telegram account.

I DM’d him a screenshot of a BobbyBuyBot post in the Wrong Telegram chat.

I met The Other Guy at my first project. I was on the dev team for 18 months before I quietly resigned. The Other Guy was the largest holder of that token and a passionate supporter and friend. There are other people in Wrong that are the same, holders and supporters. More than that, they are just good people. Getting sappy? I don’t care.

A group of us have been trying to educate people for years on the tricks and faults of crypto projects. We tried many different approaches.

We were doing things the “right” way.

Now, it’s not really different. It’s just wrong. It is whatever you want it to be. Those that need to be taught, can learn. Those that just want to have some fun, can laugh. Those that have room in their lives to do both, can do both. I’m doing both. You do you.

It’s whatever the hell you want it to be.

For me though, it’s much more. This is a call for a greater good. A punk rock, fuck you, righteous as hell, revolution! LFG!!!! (cough…cough…breathe)
