The January moon rose bright

And watched over as I slept

Without a tear in sight

February brought the spring air

Which carried away the scent

Of your skin and my despair

Music returned when March came

With new songs as foreign as

The sound of your name

Followed April and the laughter

The taste once lost on lips

That I had sought after

May arrived with summer heat

And burnt remnants of your touch

To ashes at my feet

Distant lands saw June spent

Collecting memories under the sun

And free from your torment

Bravado in July wouldn’t let

My mending heart dwell

In the shadows of regret

August falls to the earth

In drifting leaves as I learn

To release this past hurt

To heartbreak conceived one September

And born October the year after

To a cold November and December

Thank you and farewell.
