Top 5 movies for entrepreneurs

For sure the most of us is conscience about the power of knowledge gathered in books.
As US politician Harry Truman said

This is one of my favorite quote, because it is so true. But this is not the topic of this article. When you meet with your friends/ girlfriend/boyfriend very often you want to watch some movie.
It can be not only funny experience but also can teach you some lesson. As movie industry put more and more attention to tell the stories of famous businessmen or events related with finance.

Today, I want to present you 5 movies, thanks to which I learn a lot or change a way of looking on a life. Don’t worry I will not spoil you the plot, but emphasis the issues on, which you should focus. So let’s go:

We will start from the movie about the founder of McDonald’s. Speaking more precisely Ray Kroc is a guy, who transform McDonalds to global corporation. Watching the movie you will learn how persistence can help you succed. In the scenerio in which Mr Kroc stopped after selling several milk shake machines, the McDonalds as we know it will never exist.

I read that in life of everyone is 8 occasions to make million dollars. Companies also has such a moments, in case of McDonalds, that was idea to buy the lands on which the restaurants are located. That was the breaking point, which gives the titles founder his fortune.

The movie directed by Martin Scorsese is a story of one of the biggest frauds in 90s and about its author, who was Jordan Belfort. Despite the fact, the film is about the financial crime, you can find there some insights. You should focus on selling, because in this movie the important mechanisms are shown, often in a funny way. You can also see the vivid life of Wall Street in 90s and its dark side. So be prepared to see the drugs, which are not available today. :) But I am not recommending testing this kind of knowledge. Only the clear mind, can managed really big money. The movie can be immersive, even for people not connected with the topics like investing, business and selling.

This movie is entirely different from The Big Short. It is describing the 2007/8 financial crisis and the lives of 4 freaks, who noticed it a little bit earlier than others. I remember that watching this movie in at the opening night in the cinema, I was the only one who felt the funny moments.

For me, it is one of the best movie ever created. In my country it was misadvertised as a super funny, stupid comedy. However, it is something opposite. This is the kind of movie after, which you will have to check some facts, names like CDO. Who knows what that is ? Only Wall Street guys. But here I found the value of this movie, watching it several times ;P I learnt a lot about the markets, stupidity and BIG BANKS. It unveils the unlimited pride and greed, which led many people and business to the bankruptcy. It was also a little bit depressing, but the educational aspect is much more important. I am also a big fan of the narrator Jared Vennett, his remarks about sales and financial industry are hard to copy.

The social network

This is not only great movie about the the social media platform, which changed our lives but also about its founder Mark Zuckerberg. Thanks to the site he created, this and hundreds of others articles can go to your Fb wall so seamlessly. Watching this title, you should focus on the leadership skills of Mark and his persistence. Despite the multiple battles in courts, he didn’t surrender and finally he succeeded. The history of this company, can teach us that, you don’t have to be first to be the best — and win the game. MySpace was created before Facebook, but now it is marginalzed. If you want to see why — this movie is for you.

The next, after The social Network biographical movie on that list, also must-see. In this movie, the Steve Jobs is played by Michael Fassbender and directed by the “127 hours” director.

This is the story about the one of the most notable innovators and business people in history. The guy, who was neither the programmer nor the designer. His genius, was in finding, connecting and motivating the best of the best.

For me he is the person, which I want to follow in several fields. What very rarely occur, his company motto ‘think differently” was actually the way he thought not the PR bulshit.
