How Much Should You Pay an Employee

This is a question we hear regularly as no one wants to be overpaying (unless you’re Google and Facebook,) and underpaying means you’re at risk of staff being poached. Historically, companies have…

Is the iPhone really worth the price?

If you have an older Apple phone, then I’m sure you have noticed that shortness of battery life, or the crashing of different apps every so often to send you to your local CSpire, Verizon, and/or AT&T. The salesperson will troubleshoot your phone and then look at you and say, “Well, your storage is full.”

Turns out “storage is full” trick has run dry. Recent lawsuits confirm that Apple has purposely slowed down older versions of iPhone such as 5, 5S, 6, and 6S Plus. Nevertheless, this method forced people to try to keep up with the latest version of iPhones.

Let’s draw out a timeline of an invested Apple user:

Ø September 19, 2014- Apple releases the iPhone 6 to replace the iPhone 5

Ø September 5, 2015- Apple releases the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus

Ø September 7, 2016- Apple releases iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Ø September 22, 2017- Apple releases iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

Now, here we are in 2018. Watching the iPhone get the size of a tablet with the same accessibilities it had in 2014 with the iPhone 6. Now the iPhone 6 is in the dinosaur years of Apple. Speaking from experience, I have an iPhone 6. Let me just say, yesterday my phone died on 78%. I can barely download apps because of “low storage”. My phone cuts off whenever it feels like it. The gag is now, I can’t trade in this iPhone 6 because it’s only worth $100. This $100 is the best anyone can give me minus the fact my phone has not one single scratch and my screen is still in tack.

Speaking of screens

Look to your left and to your right. If the person has an iPhone, ask to look at their screen. Now, 9 times out of 10 this screen will be cracked, or they just got their screen fixed. Keep in mind, getting a screen fixed is another $100 to add on to this expensive phone.

People usually say that you get what you pay. This is true. Apple offers awesome softwares, you just have to keep up. Once your product has depreciated, it’s over.

It almost seems now that Apple has ran out of new techniques to draw people in. This leaves the unfortunate to deal with this high price crappy phone and the bandwagon people with recent release of iPhone X ($999). However, Apple released statements that they will discontinue the X after the second generation launches. The X had interesting features such as no home buttons, now you can open the phone with your face as a passcode. It has been circulating that Apple would rather discontinue this product rather than selling it for a cheaper price.

For several, this phone is overpriced for just a new body style and a face feature. If people aren’t into all the benefits that Apple offers, the price are unreasonable but if you’re looking for a camera to put a photographer out of a job or wait… That’s it. Think of everything you could actually do with $999. Maybe you could pay half of your rent, car note, pay on a credit card. These are actually benefits to your life not a phone. I attempted to buy an iPhone 8, even the salesperson begged me not to. He said, “This phone does exactly what your phone does now.” Even the people selling these products are against the pricing.

Apple forces their dedicated buyers to invest in these overpriced products because of the crappy softwares they offer to older versions. Next time when you’re on reviewing Apple products, look at the actual difference from older versions. Mind blowing.
